Another boring day and I forked out this drawing in a couple of hours. I really don't know why I did this drawing. I guess was in the mood to design a girl in an astronaut outfit. Maybe it could used in the gaming industry someday. Oh well, just for fun. -TAo!

I did this drawing in a couple of hours and just for fun. (11x14) I guess you can say this is a comic style version of "The Little Mermaid". I really have no future plans of coloring this either. Like I said- Just for fun. -TAo!

This is one of my favorite black and white drawings. I can't imagine coloring this thing- or really haven't had the time. I did this in one night when my wife was away visiting the Philippines. I guess you can say I was really bored and this is what I do with my free time. ha ha.

Well, I always wanted to do a dragon piece and this is what I came up with. There is no refrence for this- something out of my own imagination. He's not your typical fantasy dragon type pose- I guess it's more of a D&D style mixed in with a comic looking style. I also added a girl to give it that character/illustrative look. (Some people say the girl looks like TinkerBell on steroids- but I laugh at that because it's you guys that have the wild imaginations!) Well, maybe I'll color this bad boy someday. I don't know what inspired me to do this drawing. I guess I just wanted do a development type style drawing that would show design, lighting, and composition. There is no reference for this- something I did out of own imagination. There is a little story behind this illustration- Even though the alien creature is a prisoner, he's feels comfortable and not a bit afraid because the female scientist is trying to connect with him. This is an 8x10 hand drawing, scanned and painted in photoshop. Thanks for letting me share- TAo!

TAO NGUYEN'S T-REX DRAWING

I also did this drawing for the San Deigo Comic-Con International souvenir book way back in 2000. I still framed part of the Jurrasic Park movie on Laser disc to capture the T-rex image. The smaller dinos were drawn from my imagination- since I already knew the anatomy structure from drawing the T-rex first. This was my first attempt at drawing a dinosaur and I'm pretty proud of it. Again, I wish I had to time to color this drawing- but I still think it's pretty powerful seeing it in black and white. Thanks for letting me share- TAo!

TAO NGUYEN'S FANTASTIC FOUR DRAWING

I did this drawing for the 2001 San Diego Comic-Con International souvenir book. It' a tribute to The Fantastic Four's 4oth anniversary. We had a selection to choose from: Wonder Woman, Captain America, Lord Of The Rings, and Bones, but I chose the Fantastic Four because it had multiple characters and that's what I love drawing- characters.

Before I started the drawing, I imagined what it would be like to work for Marvel Comics and if given the full power to revamp this comic- this is what I came up with. It's has mixture between a Jim Lee influence and my own 'sci-fi' type feel. I feel it's one of my best attempt at drawing comic superheros. I wish I could see it fully colored, but I really don't have the time. Thanks for letting me share- TAo!
